Meet Morgan!

I had the most fun yesterday with my new friend, Morgan. I asked if I could do a photoshoot of her in her AW gear and she was the best sport; singing, playing, and being silly the whole time. I had to share some of the pics with you!

Morgan is the sweetest, funniest little girl who was born with Down Syndrome. Her parents have constant struggles with Morgan keeping on her mittens, no matter how cold it is outside. With her smaller blood vessels, which is common in Down Syndrome, she experiences Acrocynoaisis (the bluish discoloration of the extremities due to decreased oxygen being delivered to those areas), so it's even more important for her hands to be covered at all times in cold weather.Â

When they heard about Arctic Wave, they were ecstatic.

Her parents said that her verbal skills also greatly impact her ability to keep her mittens on in the winter. She isn't always able to communicate that her hands are cold so it's best to keep them covered at all times just in case. Communication is a big barrier for young children, but even more so for children with special needs.Â

Our coats help eliminate some of these issues that Morgan and her family face on an average winter day and we couldn't be happier to be able to help them!
